Chariss- Assement of previous work.
Strengths: at the beginning when there is a voice over of the news, it fit really well and i really liked it also there were a wide range of shots used. Even when just putting his headphones in his pocket to dialing 999, everything was in detail. There pan shots worked really well and smoothly.
Weakness': i found this hard to try and pick out any weakness', but when he noticed the body, there were a shot were the camera was at a low angle looking up at him and i wasn't to keen, maybe they could of used a over the shoulder shot. Also with it being in the day it kind of looses the feel of it being a horror film, it does not create fear, it just tells a story.
You notice straight away that it is a horror film when they show the dead victim with a bite on her neck.
The rule of thirds work really well in this film, you can tell they have thought well about their shots.
No props were used, but there dress sense is very casual which you see in a lot of vampire films these days, for example twilight.
The sound at the beginning with the voice over of the news i thought worked really well. But none of the sound through the film created fear.
I would give this a level 3, this being that there shots are great, but they could of been a bit more creative with the story line and sound, and maybe shoot it at night to create a spookier effect.

Strenghs: There location i thought was a really good place to shoot there film, it reminded me of a clip from Let Me In also they didnt need a script, you could understand very clearly what was happening. The different shots used at the start when she is walking by herself i thought made it really effective and flowed really well.
Weakness': I think more shots could of been added, for example more close-ups of the vampire and a few more mis shots, because there were alot of long shots used. When the guy who finds her the next day is walking down the path and is show from a sideview the camera jolts a few times, so if it was panned smoothly i thought it may have been a better shot.
You can tell this is a horror film, by it being shot at night and the music used and by the end of it when she is gets bitten.
There are a few shots used, but more could of been added; close-ups, mid shots.
The Rule of thirds in this film are used well, you have your eye on the victim all the time because of her being on the golden mean.
This film flowed really well, there were no jump shots or anything major that made you loose your concentration during the film.
The lighting used could of been better, but i know from filming at night it is hard to to find street light, however they tried there best to find a location that has a fare amount of decent lighting. The costume was casual, they dressed the vampire in black, this may of been to shown the audience he is on the dark side, hes dull and misrable.
The sound i found was really effective, the heavy breathing fitted well with the film however in some parts of the film it could of been left out because it wasnt needed. The music fitted well with the genre and it had that spooky effect added to it.
Overall i would give this film a Level 3, the narrative was good but more shots could of been added.

With a 18 certificate you are able to have drug use, violence, sexual scenes and swearing in your film, this is because at the age of 18 you are known to be a fully grown mature adult.
Vampire films may contain a lot of violence, gore and blood, so we are giving our film a 18 certificate.

Photos Of Practice Lighting
This one is just from the fill light, as you can see there is a shadow on his ride side of the face, and isn't that bright as doesn't have that high intensity.
This is from all 3 lights.
This is from the key light, which is positioned to the right of the camera, you can see how there is a shadow on the left side of his face.
Here we have used both the key light and the fill light, you can see this as the light is more even and not many shadows.
Here we used the back light, which is placed behind him, this makes him stand out more from the background.
